The Adelanto West Ministry Team from Abundant Living Family Church (HD) began the Breakfast in a Bag ministry March 10, 2012 in an apartment complex on Auburn Street in Adelanto. In the 96 unit complex there were only 18 families. The vision was to provide food for the children during the weeks when food may be scarce. Most of the families were without jobs and relied on monthly food assistance from the state

In the beginning of the ministry, the team would meet at the complex every second, third and fourth Saturday to hand out bags of snacks to approximately 25-30 children. Untrusting and leery of strangers in their area, many families would not come out at first. There was a very heavy spirit of depression, hopelessness and darkness. The property, at that time, was somewhat rundown with little or no landscaping. Many homes were vacant and boarded up. People would hardly talk or smile.

In the weeks to come, little by little, folks were recognizing the ministry team and began to come out each week. Each visit, the team would minister to those who came, asking them if they needed prayer and sharing the love of Jesus with them all.

For the fifth Saturday that first month, the team put together a barbeque for all the families. Many came out to eat and the team was able to spend more time building relationships with them. After a couple of months of being at the complex, the people began to be more trusting….even expecting and excited for the team to be there.

Today, a year and four months later, the team is still ministering and taking the Breakfast in a Bag to the children. There are approximately 48 families now, with 70 plus children being fed. Many of the kids are waiting for the team in the parking lot when they arrive, greeting them with smiles and hugs and updates on the awesome things that have been happening in their lives since the previous week.

There is a whole new atmosphere in the complex. In addition to improvements in the landscaping, the parking lot being repaved, and repairs being made all around – there is a huge spirit of joy and hope among the people…..of all ages. Many are learning to trust the Lord in their lives and homes….many have gotten jobs….many have given or have rededicated their lives to Jesus. What a blessing to see transformations in progress!

People continue to reach out for prayer and fellowship. Children are being taught scriptures each week. Some in the community have even had Bible studies. The hunger for Jesus grows and people are learning to trust, love and show, as well as receive, compassion.

The Adelanto West Ministry Team continues to grow with faithful servants, sharing the love of the Lord. The children are still getting their bags on the 2nd through 4th Saturdays; and community get-together’s whenever there is a 5th Saturday in a month.

Through the Adelanto West Ministry, Curbside Community Center was birthed. Curbside, working with other ministries, is distributing food to Adelanto West and two (2) additional complexes, 1-2 days a week.

As the movement of Christ is flowing through these complexes, the vision and prayer of Curbside is that the Holy Spirit continues to pour out His mercy, grace and love on these complexes, as well as overflowing to the communities nearby and for a shield of protection to be about His people.

Curbside is truly blessed to be a part of this amazing movement of Christ!

1 Chronicles 4:10

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

Our mission

To fulfill the calling, the Great Commission

Matt. 28:18-20
Being the hands and feet of
Jesus…..showing people Gods
grace and mercy through our actions
(being like Christ) and our testimonies
and sharing the word of God

Isaiah 55:7
Let the wicked forsake their ways and the
unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord,
and He will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

Our vision

Curbside Community Center is to have the ability to "roll up" to the highways, by-ways, alley’s, parks, corners, streets and neighborhoods to feed children and share the Good News of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We are asking that you would come together with us in prayer for the fulfillment of our vision and purpose of this ministry. We have already begun seeing mighty doors that our Heavenly Father is opening….seeing Him glorified…..as we seek to bring hope and blessings to the community through this ministry.

Thank you and God bless.

MOM WHERE IS DAD!!!

There we were… five of us boys and baby sister - that makes six. Life in the “barrio”.…

In the summer of 1982 - I was tore up from the floor up…having it out verbally with my wife, Heidi, in the middle of the street. “Here they come again,” two members of the gang unit riding slowly in the hood. No mistake, they were coming over to talk to us…again. This was not their first time telling us how JESUS could help…we only needed to give our lives to Him.

Six months later, I found myself in a men’s home. It was there that JESUS got a hold of my life. I surrendered all to Him January 7, 1983. JESUS did an over-night transformation in my life! I had gone to sleep that night around 11:30 pm. When I woke the next morning, I was a NEW man!!! Next, HE would work on my wife.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:

The old has gone, the new is here!

In a matter of days, it was time for me to go back home….home to the hood...gangs, drugs, home-boys. I had lived there all my life - born in a house, raised in the hood. However, I did not go alone that day. The Spirit of the Lord was upon me! I went straight to my “homies” and started telling them about my JESUS! They thought I had flipped out. It was only a week prior I was trying to climb up my garage door…thinking I was spider man. That’s what smoking PCP did in my life. Now I was able to plant the good news of JESUS in the neighborhood. (Mark 5:1-20).

Then one day I got to thinking about my mom. She had picked herself up and went to work after my father had left us. She would take her lunch-pail and her boots and head of to work so she could provide for her six children. I began thinking of all she had been through. My God, how did she do it? Two of her son’s had been killed, her baby girl had taken a bullet in her head by a drive by shooter, and her oldest son was in a wheelchair. And I lay in the gutter, literally, with my nose split like an open book.

But JESUS came from the utter most to the gutter most, picked me up and set my feet upon the Rock - JESUS!!!

JESUS LOVES ME SO MUCH HE REFUSED TO LEAVE ME

THE WAY HE FOUND ME!

Psalm 34:6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.

He heard my cry and turned to me! He lifted me out of the muck and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand…Jesus changed my life that day in 1983.

The Lord had plans for my life….plans I could not see.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God is God of second chances…a God of a new beginnings…

The lifestyle of gangs and drugs had my wife and I bound for many years. Heidi and I went from ~GANGS TO GRACE~ God gave us HIS strength and HIS power. Since then, Heidi and I proclaim the gospel, and the changing power and the hope in Jesus, to every “home-boy” we know. We have knocked on doors and stood on every corner, shouting Repent!!!

Psalm 66:16 Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.

My wife and I give God all the honor and Glory...Abel & Heidi Razo.

Jesus said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord Mark 5:19

has done for you and how he has had mercy on you.”
